Lost Wax Casting
|
Lost Wax Casting has been used for thousands of years to produce jewelry, dental, medical and industrial products that we use in our every day life.
Lost Wax Casting gets its name from the process of creating a wax model, then covering the model in what is called plaster investment or a plaster slurry. The plaster is allowed to harden and then put into an oven so that the wax is baked away or "lost" from the newly created plaster mold. Gold, silver, platinum, brass and bronze are just some of the metals used in lost wax casting.
